“2024 NBA Draft Predictions: Knicks Targets Kel Ware and Ryan Dan Analysis”
Stephen Bondy has made his predictions for the upcoming 2024 NBA Draft, starting Wednesday, about the players likely to be picked by the Knicks alongside his two previous selections:
**Number 24. Kel Ware, C, Indiana**
Standing tall at 7 feet, Ware is a dominant shot blocker with impressive wingspan, likened to Jeret Allen, featuring a solid rim protector and a Tom Thibodeau-style center, which Knicks are eyeing to insure against the injury-prone Michel Robinson.
Just two days before the draft, he traveled to New York for a workout session with Thibodeau, showing high-level interest.
There are two potential concerns: 1) Ware did not display enough confidence or aggressiveness in Indiana, which could be an issue under Thibodeau, and 2) Ware might have to adjust his expectations to fit in with the Knicks.
**Number 25. Ryan Dan, F, Virginia**
A top-tier wing defender who improved in college after a low-profile high school recruitment.
His defense will be reshaped in the NBA Draft, but Dan’s NBA success will be defined by his shooting improvements.
His aggressive performance in Virginia faltered, and if he cannot hit open jumpers, he could be sidelined – or sent for defensive replacement.
The Knicks recently selected some defense-first draft picks (Frank Ntilikina, Michel Robinson, Miles McBride, Quentin Grimes, Jericho Sims), and Dan could be another.
