Now, WhatsApp and Messenger video calls may be made hands-free with Meta smart glasses.
With more than 100 options to pick from, Meta Smart Glass is now offered in 15 countries. However, the glasses are not officially available in India yet.
Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Tuesday that the rebranded Meta Smart Glass is now compatible with WhatsApp video calls and supports Point-of-View mode. Users can communicate with others during calls using the built-in cameras on the smart glasses.
Meta initially launched its own version of smart glasses in February 2024 in collaboration with Ray-Ban.The Skyler frame and a low-bridge version of the Headliner frame are among the new style alternatives the business is now offering.
Customers may customise their frames and lenses using the Ray-Ban Remix platform, which offers over 100 options. Prices start at 9 (approximately 25,000 rupees).
These glasses, operated by Meta AI (in the US and Canada), feature amenities like a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera, enabling users to take pictures, record videos, and now make video calls via platforms like WhatsApp and Messenger. You may listen to music and make conventional voice calls with the glasses.
Additionally, a special limited edition Scuderia Ferrari colorway is being released for Meta Smart Glass, which the company claims will “bring together the heritage of Ferrari, timeless Ray-Ban design, and Meta’s cutting-edge technology.
” These glasses will be available for sale in select markets from April 24th.
At the moment, Meta Smart Glass is accessible in over 15 nations, including the US, Canada, Australia, and Europe. However, they are not yet officially available in India.
