American Idol alumna and Grammy-winning artist Mandisa passed away at the age of 47.
Nashville, Tennessee – Contemporary Christian singer Mandisa, who appeared on “American Idol” and won a Grammy for her 2013 album ‘Overcomer’, has passed away. Her age was forty-seven years.
According to a spokesperson for the artist, Mandisa was discovered dead in her Nashville, Tennessee, home on Thursday, the Associated Press reported. According to the spokesman, Mandisa’s death’s cause is still a mystery.
Mandisa, whose full name was Mandisa Lynn Hundley, was born near Sacramento, California, and rose to prominence singing in church. After finishing ninth on “American Idol” in 2006, she found stardom.

Mandisa continued her journey by releasing her debut album “True Beauty” in 2007, which earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Pop and Contemporary Gospel Album that year.

On Friday, Love from the Christian Radio Network paid tribute to the singer on social media, saying: “Mandisa struggled, and she was so brave to share it with us, which helped us talk about our struggles.”
