“Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear Endorses Kamala Harris Amid Presidential Speculation”
Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear said on Monday that he will not seek the Democratic nomination for president and is instead endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris, positioning himself as a potential challenger to President Biden’s chosen successor in the latest White House race. Speaking on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” on Monday morning, he remarked, “The Vice President is smart and sturdy, characteristics that will make her a good President.
The difference between her and other contenders cannot be clearer.” The day began with West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin stating he would not run, ending 12 hours of speculation that a Democrat could challenge the incumbent for the presidency, prompting his party to reconsider registering for the office. Manchin did no longer endorse Harris.

He has repeatedly won hard-fought victories in deep red Kentucky. He is in his second term as governor, a state that Biden lost by 26 points in 2020, having previously won a statewide race as attorney general.
